After School Sports Programs

Monroe Middle School offers a full schedule of after school sports which include:

• Boys and girls volleyball
• Boys and girls soccer
• Boys and girls basketball
• Cross Country

Bay Area After-School All-Stars at Monroe Middle School 2009-2010

The Bay Area After-School All-Stars provides a comprehensive, out-of-school programming for under-served youth, focusing on enriching the mind, body, and character of every child we serve, and giving them the skills and mindsets needed to more fully engage in the core school day. Our middle school program model is built around three central components: Homework Center, Enrichment Classes, and Sports & Fitness Programs. Enrichment classes are offered in six to eight week sessions and are similar to "electives". At most sites the schedule allows students the opportunity to take two enrichment classes per week ASAS staff develop curriculum based on student requests and things that staff are passionate about teaching. Some popular titles include "Super Size Art", "Crime Stoppers", "Fierce & Fabulous", "All-Stars Best Dance Crew", "Top Chef", and "Bust a Flow". ASAS is an outstanding leadership program that offers children a well rounded program and a safe place to be during the after school hours. In the Campbell Union School District it is largely subsidized by a state grant. Enrollment is limited and is done on a first come first serve basis.
