Week One: "Down on the Farm"
June 21st- 25th 2010
Here are the highlights for the week:
Monday- Introduction to farm life! Tuesday- We'll be talking about what grows on a farm. Have your child bring his/her favorite garden vegetable to school to share. They will use them to make salad for everyone to taste! Wednesday- Water day! Please send your child to school already wearing his/her water clothes and shoes. You should pack a towel and a dry set of clothes and shoes for him/her to change into after. Thursday- We'll talk about all the wonderful foods we get from dairy farms and the children will be making ice cream to taste!! Friday- We will have a visit from a local petting zoo. There will be a variety of farm animals for the children to touch, hold, feed, and observe!

Week Two: "Summer Olympics"
June 28th- July 2nd 2010
Here are the highlights for the week:
Monday- Introduction to Olympic Week! We will have opening ceremonies complete with a "running of the torch"! Tuesday- Team USA!! Have your child come to school wearing red, white, and blue. We will be making patriotic art and decorations for our 4th of July celebration on Friday. Wednesday- Water day! Please send your child to school already wearing his/her water clothes and shoes. You should pack a towel and a dry set of clothes and shoes for him/her to change into after. Thursday- Let the Olympic Games begin! The children will participate in various games and sports. Friday-Each child will be honored for their athletic efforts throughout the week at our "medals ceremony". We'll celebrate everyone's victory (and America's upcoming birthday) with a yummy hot dog snack!

Week Three: "Safari Days"
July 6th -9th 2010 (no school Monday- fees prorated)
Here are the highlights for the week:
Tuesday- Introduction to Safari Week! We will start our adventure by making some safari gear and snacks. Wednesday- Water day! Please send your child to school already wearing his/her water clothes and shoes. You should pack a towel and a dry set of clothes and shoes for him/her to change into after. Thursday- We'll be heading out on safari around the great plains of Capri in search of wild animals. Friday- We will end the week with a field trip to Happy Hollow Park and Zoo.

Week Four: "Critters and Creatures"
July 12th- 16th 2010
Here are the highlights for the week:
Monday- Introduction to critters and creatures! Tuesday- Bring a bug day! Try to catch a bug and bring it in to share. We will have crickets and worms to add to our "entomologist lab". Wednesday- Water day! Please send your child to school already wearing his/her water clothes and shoes. You should pack a towel and a dry set of clothes and shoes for him/her to change into after. Thursday- We'll explore some more insects and we will be having a ladybug release in the garden. Friday- We will have a visitor in our classroom with all sorts of creatures for the children to observe and explore.

Week Five: "Ocean Adventure"
July 19th- 23rd 2010
Here are the highlights for the week: Monday- Introduction to Ocean Life! Tuesday- Our "Oceanography Lab" will be brimming with creatures for the children to explore from shellfish to crustaceans to ocean plant life. Wednesday- Water day! Please send your child to school already wearing his/her water clothes and shoes. You should pack a towel and a dry set of clothes and shoes for him/her to change into after. Thursday- Sandcastle "contest". The children will work in teams to try to make extravagant sandcastles. Friday- We're celebrating the last day of ocean week with a luau!! The children will make leis, enjoy shaved ice, and play limbo!

Week Six: "Circus Fun"
July 26th- 30th 2010
Here are the highlights for the week:
Monday- Introduction to circus week! Tuesday- We will be learning about the different animals that perform in circus acts. Wednesday- Water day! Please send your child to school already wearing his/her water clothes and shoes. You should pack a towel and a dry set of clothes and shoes for him/her to change into after. Thursday- We'll have a visit from a real circus clown! There will be face painting, balloon twisting, a little magic and more. Friday- We'll end the week with a circus carnival with special games and home-made candy apples!

Week Seven: "Space Exploration"
August 2nd- 6th 2010
Here are the highlights for the week:
Monday- Introduction to outer space! Tuesday- We'll be going on a "moon walk" with moon shoes the children will be making for themselves. Wednesday- Water day! Please send your child to school already wearing his/her water clothes and shoes. You should pack a towel and a dry set of clothes and shoes for him/her to change into after. Thursday- We'll be going on a field trip to a local planetarium to view our solar system and the wonders it has to offer. Friday- We'll end the week with an exciting rocket launch!

Week Eight: "Let's Go Camping"
August 9th-13th 2010
Here are the highlights for the week:
Monday- Introduction to camping! Tuesday- We will be assembling our tent and making some ooey-gooey s'mores! Wednesday- Water day! Please send your child to school already wearing his/her water clothes and shoes. You should pack a towel and a dry set of clothes and shoes for him/her to change into after. Thursday- We will have a visit from the Wild Bird Center. They will be doing an interactive puppet show and bringing some live animals for us to observe and learn about. Friday- We will do some "hiking" and "fishing" activities to end the week of camping fun.
