CUSD Extension Programs

CUSD: Home School
Home School is an educational alternative that is offered through the Campbell Union School District for students from all counties surrounding Santa Clara County. Our program allows families the flexibility to work with a credentialed teacher to build a rigorous and customized educational program for the student involved. The program provides flexibility with scheduling and meets the needs of students who have outside commitments or other issues that make traditional schooling difficult. In addition, it is an alternative for parents who feel strongly that they can positively impact the education of their child be being the primary teacher. Home School puts the parent, or designated learning coach, in the role of primary educator. Using a combination of district adopted curriculum and online content, the learning coach with work with the credentialed teacher to customize a program that meets the individual learning style, academic level of the student, and family schedule. The learning coach and the student will meet weekly with the teacher to keep a rigorous pace that ensures the student is meeting state grade level standards. Students will be held accountable for all assignments, projects and completion of state standardized testing which is administered by the teacher. Home School offers a wonderful chance for parent and child to interact and learn from the world around them in a special way. In addition, a strong connection is formed between the family and the teacher. With the support of our wonderful teachers, parents will never feel alone in the educational process.
