Children Learn: Self-discipline Responsibility Value of teamwork Concentration skills To focus on goals To make choices Live Performances Build: Confidence Self-esteem Pride Sense of accomplishment It’s hard work, but it’s fun and the rewards are immediate and long lasting! In the Campbell Union School District we are fortunate to have a thriving drama program for grades 3-8. The elementary programs are directed by Mrs. Michelle McCormick and the middle school programs are directed by Mr. Jeff Risk. Both are talented directors who work with students to create an amazing end product. Past show titles have included: Bugsy Malone Jr. Annie Jr. Once on This Island Aladdin Jr. Willy Wonka Honk Jr. Grease Into the Woods Productions take place at all three middle schools annually. Watch the website and school newsletters for upcoming registration and show dates. Due to the popularity of the elementary drama program, the schools will have productions on a rotating annual basis. This means that not every elementary school will have a production every year. Our goal is to give all CUSD students who want the chance to participate in the Theater Kids program a chance to shine. Our summer musical theater program is an annual experience open to all kids in our community. If your child didn’t get a chance to participate one year at his or her school site, the summer program is the perfect opportunity to be in a production. |
